Rebecca graduated from Boston University, formerly Wheelock College, with her Bachelors in Education with a focus in Psychology in 2013. Rebecca pursued and completed a Masters in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark College in 2022. During the completion of her graduate training, she completed her training at the Lewis and Clark Community Counseling Center, supporting young adults through varied mental health concerns. Rebecca also interned at the National University of Natural Medicine, Student Counseling Center, where she provided individual and group counseling to master and doctoral level students, in an outpatient setting.

Since completing her degree, Rebecca has completed a certification in S.A.F.E. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), which incorporates principles of mindfulness and nonviolence, as well as a foundation of attachment and somatic principles. Additionally Rebecca is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. Rebecca applies an integrative approach in her work with clients, that is centered around MBCT (Mindfulness based cognitive therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy), as well as narrative, and attachment approaches. She applies additional modalities to support the individualization of treatment, some of which include, somatic psychology, feminist therapy, and neurobiology. Rebecca comes from a collaborative and strengths based perspective that supports clients in accessing internal resources and innate abilities that can be fostered towards growth and healing.

REBECCA’S PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Rebecca has worked as an educator as well as an advocate both statewide and internationally since 2013. In her work at the Lewis and Clark Community Counseling Center, she gained experience serving varied presentations, such as grief, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, non-traditional identities, and relational dynamics. During her time at the National University of Natural Medicine, she worked with varied adult populations, addressing concerns such as burn out, stress management, perfectionism, trauma, infidelity, identity, self-esteem, chronic illness, career impacts, attachment patterns, acculturation, relational and familial challenges, and existential and spiritual inquiry. Rebecca also co-led a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) group centered on interpersonal effectiveness. Rebecca’s most recent experience was working at a group practice serving a diverse group of individuals, teens, and families, with a trauma specific focus. She has had experience working with clients within the juvenile justice system, including mandated populations, as well as those within the foster care system. Rebecca is passionate about supporting peri-partum and postpartum mental health care, and has prior experience supporting mothers and children in this area of focus. Additionally, she views systems, culture, and social location, as a pivotal aspect involved in client care. Rebecca joined the Rising Phoenix Counseling Services’s team in October 2022 where she is currently providing individual counseling services to adults in Southern Oregon who are struggling with life transitions, spirituality, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief.
