Amanda graduated from Southern Oregon University in Ashland Oregon with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in 2016, and a Master Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. During her time at Southern Oregon University, she obtained experience in treating individuals of all ages as well as families and couples right here at Rising Phoenix Counseling Services under the tutelage of Sarah May Eilertson, LPC with a focus on Trauma and Crisis as well as Multicultural Counseling.

While completing her degree, Amanda completed multiple Trauma-based training programs through the International Association of Trauma Professionals as well as Tiers I and II of the Star Behavioral Health Program’s training for clinicians working with Veteran and Active-Duty Service Members and their families. She has studied and utilizes the Gottman Method of Couples Counseling, and has completed level I of EMDR training from the EMDR Institute. She believes that every person has the potential to be their best selves, and that she will work her hardest to make sure that her clients as well as the community as a whole benefit from the art of therapy.
