Lauren graduated from The University of Arizona, in Tucson, Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in business administration. She furthered her education with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Phoenix. During her education she received experience providing individual and group counseling at an addiction center providing both inpatient and outpatient therapy.
Since completing her degree, Lauren has received intensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and CBT for substance use disorders. She has also completed training with the International Association of Trauma Professionals and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). More recently, Lauren has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EDMR) as well as Structural Dissociation Theory. She has received training in the use of Fraser’s Dissociative Table/The Meeting Place within EMDR to help treat dissociation that may interfere with reprocessing past trauma.
LAUREN’S PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
While pursuing her education, Lauren worked with an inpatient population in residential treatment settings and inpatient psychiatric acute care setting. During her internship, Lauren received experience providing individual and group counseling in residential and partial hospitalization programs in an addiction treatment center. Since graduating in 2018, Lauren has been working with adults in the general mental health and substance abuse population in an outpatient agency in the state of Arizona. She is currently independently licensed in Arizona and is a National Certified Counselor. She has provided individual and group counseling and has facilitated DBT groups and groups addressing co-occurring disorders. During this time, Lauren obtained valuable experience working with adults struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse and addiction, personality disorders, etc. Lauren completed her training in EMDR in October of 2020 and has continued providing EMDR therapy to clients in Arizona. She plans to further work towards becoming certified in EMDR. She is currently independently licensed in the state of Arizona and is continuing her goal to become independently licensed in the state of Oregon as well. She enjoys working with the adult population and is excited to provide services to adults in Southern Oregon.
